The seed for this design came from a Saturday adoption event outside a feed store. One of our team members stopped by to drop off old towels and came back 90 minutes later with three stories, no towels, and a sketchbook full of notes. The line that stuck was from a volunteer who said, “Rescue parents always say they are fostering. Then they buy the good bed.”
Nearby, a yellow dog with a red bandana had planted himself between his new human’s shoes like a furry traffic cone. Every time someone asked if the adoption was official, the human laughed and said, “Apparently, yes.” The dog looked directly at everyone as if the matter had been settled before the paperwork was printed.
That tiny moment became Banjo. Not a sad rescue story, not a pity party, and not a lecture. Just the victorious second act. The after photo. The dog who has found his person and would now like to discuss dinner.
