Why We Made It
The idea started on a wet morning outside the BarkShirt office, the kind of morning where the sky is the color of a damp sock and every person is walking like they have already given up. A teammate arrived late because her dog, a cheerful mud magnet named Pickle, had discovered a curbside puddle so large it deserved a name. Pickle did not step in it. Pickle entered it, settled into it, and made eye contact like the puddle had been reserved.
Inside, we were all talking about how many of our dogs treat bad weather like a personal invitation. Someone checked the actual forecast. Someone else said, “Not rain. Splash time.” That line sat on the table for about three seconds before we knew it belonged on a shirt.
From there, the concept became a tribute to the dogs who turn weather into theater. We wanted a design that felt playful but not sugary, cute but still snarky, because BarkShirt is for the dog-loving servant who knows the truth. You do not own the schedule.
