Why we made it
This design started after one of our regular coffee walks passed a Saturday adoption setup outside a feed store. There was a handwritten sign, a folding table with a jar of biscuits, and a sandy little dog who had apparently decided the entire event was beneath him until a kid dropped half a bagel. Then he transformed. Tail helicopter. Full-body wiggle. The volunteer laughed and said, “That’s his real resume.”
That sentence stuck with us. Rescue dogs do not arrive with glossy brochures. They arrive with histories, weird preferences, forbidden fears of laundry baskets, and one perfect trick nobody taught them. They are not blank slates. They are memoirs with paws. We wanted a shirt that felt less like a lecture and more like that adoption-day spark, when a dog goes from “available” to “obviously family” in the time it takes to sit in somebody’s lap uninvited.
